Free Childcare – Sunday Matinee of Mouthpiece

Parents and caregivers! We’d love you to see Mouthpiece, so to help make that easier for you, we’re transforming our green room into a supervised playspace for your children! Inspired by our friends at The Theatre Centre and The Secret Life of a Mother, our aims are to make theatre more accessible for parents and caregivers, and to give children a fun and safe experience while their guardians enjoy the show.

We are pleased to offer free childcare during the performance of Mouthpiece on November 18 at 2PM.Your kids can enjoy songs and stories, games, colouring, and hands-on activities that will keep them engaged and having fun! Enjoy the show knowing that your child is well taken care of by our experienced childminding staff and facilitators.

Drop-off will begin 1 hour prior to the start of the show. Pre-registration is required and must be booked in advance – via phone at 902 453 6267 or email to book or if you have any questions. To book your tickets to the show visit or call ticketpro at 1-888-311-9090.

What is the age range?

Ages 1-12 are welcome in the space. Babes in arms are welcome in the theatre. We encourage caregivers who bring a baby into the theatre to choose a seat on an aisle in case they need to leave the theatre. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the show, re-admittance is not permitted should you leave the theatre partway through.

How many children in the space?
We have room for up to 18 children.
We are currently capping the capacity of babies (in diapers) at four.

What’s the Caregiver:Child ratio?

Who are the Caregivers?

The caregivers are experienced babysitters and nannies and the program is co-ordinated by our Managing Producer Karen Gross, Managing Director Colleen MacIsaac, and Artistic Co-Director Christian Barry.

What will the kids do?

Children will enjoy the opportunity to engage in several activities, depending on their interests. We will have some arts and crafts options, books and a place to rest, plus some toys and games.

Is there food?

Food will not be provided. Please bring snacks if you feel your child would like to have something during their time in the space. All snacks must be peanut/nut free. Please also provide your child with a refillable water bottle – we can refill as needed.

My child has special needs, can they come?

If a child has any special needs, details must be included with the child’s registration. Due to limited resources, 2b cannot provide one-on-one supervision or specific medical support, but are willing to discuss accommodations with parents/guardians over the phone or in person.

If a child has an assistant at school or at home for special needs, we recommend that qualified assistant attends the program with the child to support their needs.

I have more questions, who can I talk to?
