Set in a rural Black Nova Scotian community, The Bridge is a fictional three-act drama that examines the relationship between two brothers strained over 20 years of secrecy, sin, and shame. Secrets abound and are revealed at every turn from the characters themselves, as well as from a trio of community gossips who provide the musical backdrop for this gospel-infused tale. Comedic and serious, light and introspective, The Bridge is an exploration of faith, family, and forgiveness.

The event will take place at 7:30pm on February 24th in Studio One at the Dalhousie Arts Centre (at the basement level; take the north stairwell or freight elevator to the bottom floor). Tickets are pay-what-you-can and can be purchased in advance at, over the phone at 902-453-6267, in person at 6068 Quinpool Road (please call first), or at the door. Availability is very limited; please book ahead.

The Bridge is written and musically directed by 2b’s playwright-in-residence Shauntay Grant, and directed by Anthony Black. The work-in-progress showing features performances by local sisters Julia, Charla, and Murleta Williams, as well as Emerjade Simms, Donald Sales, Richard Chevolleau, and Daniel Ellis.
