2b theatre company seeks candidates for a contract position: Digital Marketing Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for leading collaboration with our communication team and implementing strategies to promote our company activity and engage our audience. Your duties will include managing our social media accounts, creating compelling content, and fostering community interaction. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in marketing initiatives, working alongside our marketing team to enhance our online presence, drive fundraising promotions, and elevate the visibility of 2b in our community. The ideal team member will have a passion for the performing arts, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a keen understanding of social media trends and digital marketing strategies. Capacity and experience with Website design is also an asset. Join us in bringing the magic of theatre to a wider audience through innovative and impactful communication efforts.

HOURS: 30 hours/week, 9 weeks
STARTING PAY: $20/hour

Responsibilities:
In collaboration with and support from staff (Artistic Director, Associate Artistic Director, Managing Director, and the Company Manager), the Digital Marketing Coordinator will support and manage a wide range of tasks related to the social media and digital marketing areas of 2b. Including:
-Working with 2b’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X) to create content highlighting the company and its activities
-Following 2b’s recently drafted Communications Plan to execute a social media strategy for the company
-Promoting summer events and initiatives at 2b through online channels
-Supporting fundraising initiatives through online reach and social media
-Supporting the creation of press releases, social media posts, and other promotional materials
-Website page design and upkeep (2b uses a WordPress Website platform)
-Potentially building on 2b’s exisiting website with new page sections (WordPress)
-Drafting and sending newsletters through our database (Keela)
Qualifications / Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will:
-Have detail oriented skills and and a passion for organization
-Have an understanding of social media tools and trends
-Have proficiency with organizational tools in G-Suite; Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
-Be self-motivated and have confidence to work independently
-Have the ability to track performance and successes in social media apps’ back end
-Have good time management skills, and the ability to multitask and to prioritize tasks
-Be able to bring a confident ‘voice’ and style to 2b’s social media
-Have some knowledge of non-profit organizations and/or the performing arts world in Kjipuktuk/Halifax
As this position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
-Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at time of hiring
-Be a Canadian citizen
-Be legally entitled to work in Canada (you must have a valid Social Insurance Number)
