The Fundraising Organizer will support 2b theatre in the coordination and execution of several fundraising activities. Thoughtfully raising funds is essential to 2b theatre’s success as a non-profit and internationally renowned touring theatre company. Fundraising is an integral part of producing and developing new theatrical projects. 2b has designed this position to provide unique insight into the producing department.
The position will include tasks such as research and development, planning events and campaigns, coordinating volunteers and sponsors, liaising with 2b’s fundraising team and committee to make a meaningful impact in our community while focusing on curiosity and care. This position offers experience in event planning and management, with opportunities to gain connections and experience in the arts community of Kjipuktuk/Halifax and beyond.
HOURS: 35 hours/week, 8 weeks
PAY: $20/hour

Responsibilities:
In collaboration with and support from all 2b staff, the Fundraising Organizer will manage a wide range of tasks related to planning and executing 2b’s summer fundraising activities. Including:
-Being the central person for communication, oversight and organization of all fundraising information and tasks
-Creating, managing, and scheduling any events
-Coordinating all logistics related to an event, including venue management, event equipment, food and beverage, and tech equipment
-Managing fundraising budgets and receipt reconciliation
-Supporting and communicating with artists and performers engaged for events or fundraising
-Creating and managing ticketing related to fundraising or events
-Coordinating local volunteers and hired staff for fundraising
-Supporting the Fundraising Committee in their sponsorship goals and needs
-Working with 2b’s database system (Keela) to track fundraising donations
-Supporting the creation of press releases, social media posts, and other promotional materials
Qualifications / Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will:
-Have detail oriented skills and and a passion for organization
-Work well under pressure and within the event deadlines
-Have proficiency with organizational tools in G-Suite; Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
-Have proficiency with maintaining and organizing information in a database (Keela)
-Be self-motivated and have confidence to work independently
-Be able to coordinate and lead a team of volunteers; be a strong team player
-Have good time management skills, and the ability to multitask and to prioritize tasks
-Have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
-Have clean record-keeping and reporting skills –
Have some knowledge of non-profit organizations and/or the performing arts world in Kjipuktuk/Halifax
As this position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
-Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at time of hiring
-Be a Canadian citizen
-Be legally entitled to work in Canada (you must have a valid Social Insurance Number)
