Daniela Bassan

Daniela Bassan, Q.C. is a Partner and Trademark Agent (Canada) at the law firm of Stewart McKelvey. A Harvard graduate fluent in four languages, she is Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. Ms. Bassan works with clients in complex commercial litigation including cross-border and international disputes. She has experience as a member of independent boards and advisory committees in private, public, and charitable sectors. This includes memberships in law reform initiatives in Canada and Europe, as well as organizations
focused on international trade and commerce. She has spoken at national and international events on a variety of topics including legal innovation and technology.

Monica Esteves

Monica Esteves is the Executive Director at Canadian Stage Company (Toronto). Over 20+
years, she has worked with numerous organizations with a focus on capacity building, strategic
and business planning, revenue development and financial management.

Monique LeBlanc

Monique LeBlanc is Regional Director (Currency) for the Bank of Canada for Atlantic Canada. In this capacity she ensures delivery of the Bank’s currency education program and monitors developments related to currency and its security in the region. In her spare (non-pandemic) time, she hosts a house concert series which has presented over 100 performances since 2008.

Jacob Sampson

Jacob Sampson is a Halifax based Playwright, Performer, and Teacher. At 2b theatre, he played the role of John Solomon in The Bridge, and was also a past workshop instructor and board member. Other acting credits include: Shakespeare in Love (Neptune Theatre), Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Titus Andronicus, Much Ado About Nothing (SBTS), Chasing Champions (Ships Company & EFT), The Reversal of Peter Dawson (Ships Company Theatre & Stepping Stone), Settling Africville (San Family Productions). Film: Trailer Park Boys (Netflix), Let’s Get Physical (Grandma’s House Entertainment), SEED (City T.V), Sex & Violence (Emotion Pictures).

Gordon Patrick White

Gordon Patrick White is an actor who has worked with various companies across the Atlantic
provinces and Canada, including Neptune Theatre, the National Arts Centre, Soulpepper Theatre
and the Stratford Festival. Gordon is of the Mi'kmaq First Nation from Flat Bay, NFLD.

Charla Williams

Charla Williams is semi-retired after a, more than, 40 year career as a Diversity Practitioner. She currently consults with a curated group of clients and is a member of 2b's Board of Directors. She has dabbled in acting, appearing in 2b’s production of Shauntay Grant’s The Bridge, as Chorister 2. She comes from a strong African Nova Scotian heritage and culture. Charla brings all of this to the 2b Hiring Committee process.

Catherine Woodman

Catherine Woodman has executive leadership experience in the health care, financial, and charitable sectors. With a professional background in human resources and communications, she also contributes deep experience as a volunteer leader of Boards in the not for profit sector with recent focus on immigration, theatre and health care.

Christian Barry

Christian Barry is a multi-award winning director and theatre-maker from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Christian is a co-founder and artistic co-director of 2b theatre company. He has directed shows at prestigious festivals and theatres around the world.

Christian was nominated for four individual Drama Desk Awards in 2018, including Best Director, and received a nomination for Best Produciton. He won a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Production, and was nominated for an Outstanding Director Dora. Other select awards: Three Theatre NS Merritt Awards for Outstanding Direction (nine nominations), Two for Outstanding New Play, and two for Outstanding Lighting Design. Christian received the 2008 Halifax Mayor’s award for an Emerging Artist, and the 2006-7 Urjo Kareda residency grant at the Tarragon Theatre.

Directing credits for 2b theatre company: Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, The God that Comes, Homage, Revisited, The Russian Play, The Story of Mr. Wright, East of Berlin, Manners of Dying, and Cherry Docs. His productions have played at renowned venues and festivals including Bristol Old Vic, Edinburgh Fringe, Sydney Festival, Tarragon Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Magnetic North Festival, PuSh, Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, Noorderzon, Aarhus Festival, Theaterformen Hanover, Luminato, World Stage, and 59E59 (Off-Broadway in New York City).
