Administrative Archivist

2b theatre company seeks candidates for a 12 week administrative contract position, with a focus on Archival and Information Management. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn the inner workings and be a part of the transformation of a thriving local not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to making meaningful impact in our community with a focus on curiosity and care.
The Administrative Archivist position will join and support the staff in the transformation of systems improvement and organization of day to day operation and management of archival materials (paper and digital). Working with all staff, the administrative archivist will be supported in the following tasks: re-organization and categorization of office spaces, storage, archival and database materials and implementing procedures and documentation for managing current and semi-current archives of show materials, press materials, donor and patron materials.
The Administrative Archivist will gain a holistic view of operational structures and systems in an arts organization, career-related relationships and provide an experience for an emerging professional pursuing a future in Arts Administration or Management.
The contract runs for 12 weeks from November 15th to February 11th, and is $18/hr for 20hrs a week in-office.
Responsibilities:
In support and collaboration with all staff the Administrative Archivist will assist with the following:
-Organizational support of storage spaces and digital and paper filing systems
-Collection/digital archival and documentation of 2b’s press and promotional material
-Creating and maintaining accessible archives of 2b’s historical promotional materials, in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Archives
-Assist with the integration of the database into the operating process of the company
-Support the implementation of policies and procedures for managing current and semicurrent archives, in particular corporate cataloguing systems, records scheduling and disposal
-Support the implementation of Design for managing, disseminating and storing archives of all types (documents, photographs, maps, audio-visual materials, manuscripts, etc.)
-Integrate the computerized management of archives and the management of electronic archives
-Organize noncurrent archives and develop cataloguing and retrieval systems to allow access to archival materials
-Assist people with their searches.
Qualifications / Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will:
-Be highly organized and detail oriented
-Have analytical skills and a passion for organization and reimagining structures
-Proficiency with creating, maintaining and organizing a database of information
-Proficiency with G-Suite; Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
-Be self-motivated and a strong team player
-Have good time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
-Have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
-Have knowledge of non-profit organizations, theatre production and/or the performing arts world in Halifax and beyond.
-Research and reporting skills Knowledge of database management systems is an asset (Keela)
As this position is partially funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, the candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
-Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at time of hiring
-Be a Canadian citizen

Creative Producer

2b theatre company seeks candidates for a 14 week producer contract position. The Creative Producer position is a hands-on opportunity to support the company in capturing and promoting it’s 22 year story. 2b theatre company is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to making meaningful impact in our community with a focus on curiosity and care. Responsibilities will include working with the Artistic Director to write and develop a case for support that highlight 2b’s core values and chronicles our work over the past 22 years.
The Creative Producer will be supported in developing a communications document that will contribute to the company’s grant writing and strategic planning processes. The Creative Producer will develop invaluable leadership and communications skills under the supervision of the Artistic Director. The candidate for this position will receive mentorship support and obtain connections within the local performing arts community.
The contract runs for 14 weeks from November 3rd to February 16th, and is $21.80/hr for 20hrs a week combination in-office and online work.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Artistic Director, and with the support of staff, the Creative Producer will:
-Create, edit, design, and produce a communications document that tells the story of 2b theatre company’s 22 year history, reflecting the company’s core values, mission, and vision.
-Create narrative materials to support the generation of funding and grant applications
-Create written materials to support the development of a new strategic plan
In pursuit of written assignments, the Creative Producer will:
-Research, analyze, and organize 2b archival materials
-Research and analyze 2b’s data assets
-With support of all staff, engage with each department of the organization in service of the writing process. This includes Fundraising, Sponsorship, and Operational Admin, Production, Touring, and Artistic Programming.
Additional Duties may include:
-Collection/digital archival and documentation of press and promotional material
-Creating and maintaining accessible archives of 2b’s historical promotional materials, in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Archives
Qualifications / Required Skills and Experience:

-Strong writing and communications skills
-Proficiency creating content, representing information
-Proficiency with G-Suite; Google Drive, Docs Be self-motivated, flexible and responsible
-Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize
-Knowledge of non-profit organizations, theatre production and/or the performing arts world in Halifax and beyond.
-Strong research and reporting skills
