2b connects – our new community microgrants program

By June 8, 2021 Colloquium

Dear beloved Halifax theatre community,
Staying connected has felt like a struggle. Bringing artists together has always been a central value for us. Opportunities to connect and exchange are essential nourishment for 2b. Navigating the pandemic and all the violence and trauma in our world has been hard, and we believe that making connections can be a part of the healing.

We want you to help you stay connected with other artists in our community. So we’ve come up with the 2b connects community microgrants program.

2b connects offers financial and logistical support for professional theatre networking. You tell us who you would like to connect with and why and we will set up a two-hour call between both artists. Each artist will be paid a fee of $200.

How to ApplyClick here for a fillable form, and tell us in 250 words or less:
– Who you are
– Who do you want to connect with and why?

More Details:
This microgrant program is designed to connect Nova-Scotia based professional theatre artists with either (1) another Nova-Scotia based professional theatre artist or (2) a professional theatre artist from somewhere else

The two artists connecting should not have worked together collaboratively before. This is a chance to initiate a first meeting – make contact. What happens after that is up to you!

If you don’t know who you want to meet, reach out to us and let us know what you want to learn, or more about or what you’re interested in and we can make some suggestions from our networks.

This is an open call. We currently have secured enough funding to support 15 connections (30 artists). If the impact and demand suggest we should keep it going, we’ll try!
